Real People Concept, a company known for its science and technology-driven approach to animal production, has launched a new mobile application to assist cattle farmers in monitoring and improving their cows’ fertility.

The Cow Fertility Calculator app allows farmers to track their cows’ heat cycles and predict upcoming ovulation periods. This information can be crucial for determining the optimal timing for both natural mating and artificial insemination, potentially leading to increased herd productivity.

Managing Director of Real People Concept, Tunmise Olagbaju, explained that the app helps farmers monitor their animals fertility by tracking their heat cycles and other relevant data.

“Farmers can input details like the presence of mucous discharge and signs of restlessness, both indicators of heat. Based on this data, the app can predict the cow’s next heat cycle and even estimate its delivery date after successful insemination,” he explained.

Additionally, the app offers record-keeping features for managing the cow’s pedigree and offspring information, aiding in long-term herd management strategies.

Overall, the development holds promise for cattle farmers seeking to optimise their breeding practices and enhance their overall herd management efficiency.
