The Lagos state Agripreneurship Programme (LAP) is offering a unique opportunity for young people in Lagos to launch careers in agriculture. This initiative recognises the growing need to address challenges faced by young farmers, such as lack of access to financing, land, markets, and proper training.

Established in 2020, LAP aims to train 15,000 young people over five years in various agricultural specialisations. The programme provides a one-month intensive course at the Lagos State Agricultural Training Institute.

The training will cover areas such as poultry, aquaculture, vegetable production, e-agriculture, and agribusiness. Following the training, participants gain valuable practical experience through a three-month internship and mentorship program in their chosen field.

Who can apply?

LAP is open to unemployed women and young men between the ages of 18 and 35 (males) and 18 and 40 (females) who possess a passion for agriculture. Applicants must have a minimum of a Senior Secondary School Certificate and be in good physical health.

Interested candidates can apply online through the LAP application portal. The application process involves completing a registration form and uploading necessary documents such as Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) card and academic credentials.

Uploading clear images of these documents is crucial to avoid application rejection due to incomplete submissions. Finally, applicants should ensure they provide all required details accurately to be considered for the program. Shortlisted candidates will be notified via SMS about online aptitude tests.
