Pupuk Indonesia, the leading fertiliser company, achieved a significant milestone by fulfilling the government’s mandate of distributing 6.19 million tons of subsidised fertiliser to farmers, ensuring robust agricultural productivity and food security.
Despite the complexities posed by climate change and geopolitical conflicts affecting fertiliser prices globally, Pupuk Indonesia remained steadfast in its commitment. Rahmad Pribadi, President Director, affirmed the company’s dedication during a recent media event in Jakarta.
Pupuk Indonesia adopted innovative strategies to ensure efficient distribution. The implementation of the I-Pubers application facilitated the streamlined redemption process for farmers, enhancing accessibility to subsidised fertilisers. This digital initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, has been successfully deployed nationwide, benefiting over 27,000 kiosks.
Emphasising the importance of nitrogen-based gas fertilisers, Rahmad highlighted their role in boosting crop productivity by up to 56%. Gas-based fertilisers like Urea and NPK are crucial for farmers, directly impacting national food security.
With substantial fertiliser stocks prepared, including both subsidised and non-subsidized variants, Pupuk Indonesia aims to bolster agricultural productivity and food security. The MAKMUR program, covering an extensive area and involving numerous farmers, has yielded commendable results, contributing significantly to national self-sufficiency.
