Young Nigerian Agripreneurs Receive ₦10m Grants From BATN Foundation

The British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF) has awarded a total of ₦10 million in grants to six young agripreneurs as part of its Farmers For The Future (F4F) program.

This initiative aims to support and empower young Nigerians pursuing careers in agriculture and it received over 30,000 applications in 2023.

Stakeholders say it highlights the growing interest among youth in agriculture and the program’s success in fostering the next generation of agripreneurs.

Winners walked away with cash rewards. Pemnia WellnessCEO Adebisi Opeyemi won ₦3 million while Edeh Felicitas, CEO of Felinech Global Company Limited, and Williams Ekwebelam, CEO of Bluefish Farm, got ₦2 million each.

Runners up like Bernice Oyedele of Bernice’s Farm, Ideede Favour Nukpugi of Favorite Fishery and Idowu Femi of FMD Agro Concept were rewarded with ₦1 million,

In addition to the financial rewards, the winners will receive comprehensive support in areas like technical assistance, mentorship, business registration guidance and membership in the F4F alumni network.

Since its launch in 2019, F4F has empowered numerous young entrepreneurs with success stories like Agrohive, Agrodemy, Sokvikia Enterprises, and Quotidian-V Foods.

Developed in partnership with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and Fate Foundation, F4F underscores BATNF’s dedication to empowering young people in the agricultural sector.

Furthermore, by offering equity-free capital and comprehensive support, the program enables promising youth-led businesses to scale up and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s agricultural growth.
