Professor Barend Erasmus, Dean of Natural Agricultural Sciences at UP, emphasised that the facility would focus on ‘future-fit, climate-smart agricultural research.’ This means the research conducted there will be geared toward agriculture that can withstand the effects of climate change, which is crucial for the future of farming in Africa.
