Omnia Holdings Limited has announced plans to scale back its chemicals division and sharpen its focus on core growth areas—agriculture and mining—after posting solid financial results for the year ended March 31, 2025.

The diversified group reported a 3% increase in revenue to R23 billion, largely driven by its high-performing Agriculture segment. Despite macroeconomic headwinds including drought, currency volatility, and infrastructure constraints, Omnia maintained a stable operating profit of R1.7 billion and grew headline earnings per share by 1% to 704 cents. The company also distributed R1.3 billion to shareholders, including a special dividend, pushing total payouts since FY2020 to R5.6 billion.

CEO Seelan Gobalsamy emphasised that the Group’s strong execution and customer-centric strategy, particularly within Agriculture RSA and a resurgent Agriculture International, helped generate robust earnings and cash flow. “We are enhancing competitiveness and expanding global reach,” he said.

Agriculture SA posted near-record volumes, supported by Omnia’s Nutriology® model, while Agriculture International saw increased demand locally and in key export markets such as Australia.

The company also reported growing traction for its AgriBio and biostimulant offerings, with investments in distribution and innovation yielding strong returns. ESG milestones were achieved as well, with Omnia cutting carbon intensity by 15% and expanding solar energy usage by 55%, powering over 20,000 MWh.

While performance in some regions was affected by currency depreciation and commodity price pressure, its integrated supply chain enabled agility and reliability.

As the Group trims its chemicals portfolio, it aims to double down on food security and sustainability. With improved agronomic conditions on the horizon, Omnia will continue investing in research, operational flexibility, and climate-resilient solutions to further solidify its leadership in the agriculture and mining sectors.
