Niger state’s Joint Committee on Agriculture, Land, and Environment expressed support for the government’s Agricultural Revolution Agenda. The committee chair, Mohammed Alhaji Haruna, made this statement recently during an oversight visit to inspect recently procured farm machinery.

This visit served as part of the committee’s constitutional duty to ensure transparency and optimal utilisation of the equipment by the state’s Ministry of Agriculture. The Ministry’s Commissioner, Bawa Bosso, welcomed the committee’s visit and encouraged their continued monitoring and advisory role.

The machinery currently available includes 208 tractors (out of a planned 1,000), six harvester machines, and 200 power tillers, with an additional 800 tractors expected in the future. This initiative highlights the government’s commitment to boosting agricultural productivity in Niger State.
