The National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) distributed agricultural supplies to farmers in Abia, Kebbi, and Yobe States. This initiative aims to increase food production and availability amidst global resource limitations and potential food shortages.

Over 340 hectares of farmland are expected to be cultivated thanks to the distributed supplies, which include fertiliser, herbicides, and improved seeds. Farmers in Abia and Yobe received maize seeds, while Kebbi farmers received rice seeds suitable for cultivating a half-hectare each.

NALDA Executive Secretary Prince Paul Ikonne assured beneficiaries of continued support and highlighted the program’s alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s goals of ensuring food security and affordability. The body intends to expand the program by adding more farmers to their database.

The initiative was well-received by beneficiaries across all three states. Farmers expressed gratitude for the support in acquiring essential supplies, which can be challenging to obtain, and pledged to utilise them effectively. NALDA administrators in each state oversaw the distribution process.
