Farmers are using bees to stop elephants from raiding their farms in the hope that this non-lethal means also save the animals’ lives. According to a news report, Save The Elephants, a UK-based charity, is working with the farmers and suggested the approach.

The charity, whose mission is to ‘secure a future for elephants’, build beehives across the edges of farms in a form of fence for free. When the insects swarm, the elephants are usually deterred.
