Seeking to expand the partnership, Yusuf requested assistance in addressing climate change, implementing modern irrigation techniques, and reviving a scholarship program for Kano residents that existed in the 1980s.

He showcased his administration’s achievements in healthcare, including free maternal and child health services, medical equipment provision, and facility upgrades across the state. Additionally, he emphasized mobile medical outreach programs and responsible public fund management to ensure effective service delivery and promote socio-economic development.

Ambassador Christoff expressed his desire to discuss opportunities for further collaboration with the governor and other stakeholders. He also mentioned assessing the impact of a $15.7 million Canadian government project aimed at empowering women in Kano’s agricultural sector.

This renewed commitment between Kano and Canada signifies a positive step towards addressing key challenges and fostering mutual development in various crucial areas.
