Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, was on hand to inaugurate a new GB Foods tomato processing factory located in Gafara village, Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State, alongside Governor Nasir Idris.
The development is a significant step forward for the nation’s agricultural sector, attracting vital investment and aiming to bolster domestic food production.
Government welcomes private investment to boost agriculture
Kebbi state governor, Nasir Idris, stressed his administration’s unwavering commitment to fostering a welcoming environment for private businesses and investors in the agricultural sector. He underscored the critical role such ventures play in propelling economic growth and development within the state.
Echoing these sentiments, Minister Kyari highlighted the government’s eight-point agenda, which prioritises facilitating private investment in agriculture. He commended GB Foods for their substantial investment and future plans to expand the processing facility, recognising the crucial role private enterprise plays in the national development of agriculture.
Meantime, both Governor Idris and Minister Kyari expressed their appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his dedication to agricultural development and his decision to send a high-level delegation to witness the inauguration ceremony.
Additionally, Minister of Information, Muhammad Idris, commended the President’s agricultural initiatives and the administration’s commitment to achieving food security through strategic partnerships with investors.
Adding his voice to the chorus of praise, Senator Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and National Planning, applauded the President for prioritising agricultural production and food security within his national agenda.
