In a bid to boost future agricultural leadership and Nigeria’s food security, natnudO Foods, a food processing company, has announced a partnership with the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) on a unique initiative.
As part of their ‘Natnupreneur University Programme,’ natnudO Foods donated 1,000 broiler chicks, feed, and medication to FUNAAB’s Department of Agriculture. This goes beyond simply raising chickens, as it aims to empower students with the knowledge and skills to become successful agribusiness entrepreneurs.
Additionally, the programme provides hands-on experience through broiler management, from proper ventilation and biosecurity to feed optimisation and record-keeping.
Agribusiness experts like Abodunrin Wasiu Adeyemi, Natnupreneur Operations Manager at natnudO Foods, personally guided students through technical aspects. Also, Ms. Omole Iyabo Morenike, a Senior Account Officer, equipped them with essential financial skills like budgeting and managing profit margins.
Expatiating, the Natnupreneur Operations Manager noted that the initiative is about catching them young, training them as entrepreneurs and creating a ready market for their produce.
Professor Fafiolu Adeboye, a Professor of Monogastric Nutrition and Biochemistry at FUNAAB, expressed his enthusiasm. He stated that the training will go a long way in sharpening their thinking and focus. He admonished the students to take this as a business opportunity to secure their future.
This collaboration between natnudO Foods and FUNAAB highlights an innovative approach to nurturing future agricultural leaders and addressing food security concerns in Nigeria.
