Ekiti State Governor, Abiodun Oyebanji, has praised Promasidor Nigeria for its strategic role in the state’s economic development, describing the company as a vital partner in industrial growth and job creation.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to Promasidor’s Lagos head office and factory, Oyebanji highlighted the success of the Ikun Dairy Farm, a joint initiative between the Ekiti State Government and Promasidor Nigeria. He noted that the farm has significantly boosted local employment, agriculture, and industrial production.

“We see Ikun Dairy Farm as our baby, and Promasidor Nigeria as a strategic partner in our quest for economic growth and shared prosperity. The success of this initiative brings us great joy, and our traditional leaders, including the Onikun of Ikun-Amure, Oba Olatunde David Olusola, have attested to its significant economic impact,” the governor said.

Government commitment to business expansion

Governor Oyebanji assured Promasidor of his administration’s continued support in creating a more conducive business environment. He revealed that discussions were ongoing with the Kwara State Government to expand the dairy initiative beyond Ekiti. Additionally, he noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had expressed interest in agricultural development in Ekiti, with plans currently before the Presidency.

“Our administration remains committed to reducing production costs for Promasidor and other businesses investing in Ekiti. We are focused on strengthening the agricultural sector and enhancing food security through sustainable initiatives,” he added.

Promasidor’s commitment to economic growth

Welcoming the governor, Promasidor Nigeria’s Managing Director, Mr François Gillet, expressed gratitude for the state’s unwavering support. He emphasised the company’s dedication to strengthening local industries and fostering economic development.

“We are proud of the success we have achieved with our farm in Ekiti and the positive transformation it has brought to the local community. By deepening this collaboration, we aim to further enhance Ekiti’s agriculture, manufacturing, and employment opportunities for Nigerians,” he stated.

The governor’s visit follows the success of Promasidor’s 500-hectare dairy farm in Ekiti, which has become a model for sustainable agriculture, job creation, and local resource integration. During a tour of Promasidor’s Lagos facility, Oyebanji was introduced to the company’s advanced production technology and commitment to local sourcing.

Promasidor’s partnership with Ekiti State is expected to drive further industrial and agricultural expansion, increase employment opportunities, and enhance food security. With flagship brands such as Cowbell, Top Tea, and Onga, Promasidor remains committed to corporate social responsibility and Nigeria’s economic advancement.
