77 maple syrup producers will benefit from the initiative which offers cost-shared funding to support various activities aimed at enhancing operations. These include the purchase and installation of upgraded equipment such as reverse osmosis systems and remote monitoring systems, designed to increase productivity and efficiency. Additionally, funding is allocated for woodlot management activities, including tree marking and forest planning, to assist eligible businesses.
The funding is a testament to the government’s commitment to supporting the agriculture and food industry’s growth. It complements previous investments, including the Grow Ontario Market Initiative and the Agri-tech Innovation Initiative, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to fostering sector development.
