During a meeting with the country’s Vice President Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismail, RiceAfrika’s Founder and CEO, Ibrahim Maigari Ahmadu, received assurances of partnership from the government. The VP pledged to create a supportive environment for the company’s operations, particularly as it seeks to empower Somaliland’s farmers with its award-winning FarmEASY Operating System.

Ahmadu expressed appreciation for the commitment shown by the Somaliland government. He added that the collaboration has the potential to ‘transform agriculture for thousands of farmers across the nation.’

Meantime, RiceAfrika’s arrival in Somaliland was facilitated by Bilow Capital, a venture capital firm based in Hargeisa that specialises in attracting innovative companies with the potential to make a significant impact on the country’s development. The agritech company already operates successfully in Nigeria, Tanzania, and Rwanda, leveraging its proprietary technology to optimize farming practices for over one million smallholders across Africa.
